It comprises 7 Functions: Project Management, Organizational Change Management, IT Governance Strategy and Policy, Service Management, Financial Management, Vendor Management, and Organizational Metrics.

PGP whole disk encryption not compatible with Macintosh OSX 10.7.4 (Lion)

The following information applies only to those running PGP on Macintosh operating systems. Windows operating systems are not impacted.

Apple has recently released an Macintosh operating system (Lion) update (OSX 10.7.4). PGP whole disk encryption IS NOT COMPATIBLE with Macintosh OS X v10.7.4.

ERP Strategy team moves assessment process forward

It’s been a while since we’ve communicated the latest status of the ERP Options Assessment, so I wanted to provide a brief update. We have completed our analysis of the software products, and while a final decision has not been made, we have formed a recommendation on the product that would be the best fit for Yale.

Service Management news

ITSM Practitioner's Group established

On Friday May 11, the very first ITSM Practitioner's Group meeting was held, during which a discussion about the Change process was led by Lou Tiseo and coaches had an opportunity to share their questions and experiences with using ServiceNow. The forum allows Deployment Coaches, Process Owners and Managers to promote understanding and adherence to newly implemented ITIL processes.

ServiceNow deployment to Group 2 complete!

The ITSM team is pleased to report that deployment of ServiceNow to Group 2 is complete and has brought us even closer to consistency in processes across the entire organization.  An additional ten ITS teams and eight non-ITS teams transitioned from YSMA to ServiceNow on May 9.  This is a tremendous achievement and everyone is to be commended for their efforts.

Congratulations are in order for Mary-Kay Kaminski and Chloe Turnbull who recently celebrated 20 and 10 years of service to the University, respectively.  The two ITS employees were honored with a cake and a few tales about their years at Yale.

Lunch and Learn: Continuous Integration Using Jenkins - May 15

Camden Fisher from the Unix Infrastructure and Virtualization team will give a presentation on Jenkins, which is an application and a framework that manages and monitors the execution of repeated tasks.

Summer Web Talks - May-July 2012

A series of Summer Web Talks will be hosted this summer in hopes to revive the Web Developers Round Table. The group name will change a bit - Yale Web Group - since the topics are geared towards anyone who uses the web, i.e. web developers, editors, designers, producers - but the idea is the same. A place to learn about new technology and ideas when developing websites and applications across campus.

Yale University's three hundred eleventh Commencement

Yale will celebrate its 311th graduation on May 21 following a weekend that will include speeches, prize presentations, senior class antics and the awarding of honorary degrees, among other activities.
